Armadillo Studios offers three beautiful studios for a carefree, relaxing holiday. All studios have a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette and a private terrace with Weber grill. The harmoniously laid out and well-kept garden with swimming pool and large wooden deck is on the same level and invites you to linger and relax. Armadillo Studios is located in a quiet residential area, a good 5 minutes from the city centre.
Studio 1 (35m2)
is suitable for one or two guests and is ideal for wonderfully relaxing days as well as for romantic feel-good days and honeymoons. The recently renovated studio with its modern, imaginative and tasteful design and excellent interior and exterior equipment invites guests to feel at home.
The suite is equipped with a comfortable large bed (queen-size), large built-in wardrobes, a living area with sofa, coffee tables and flat-screen TV (satellite TV DSTV Premium), a small table and a new high-quality kitchenette with all necessary appliances such as refrigerator, microwave, induction hotplate, kettle and toaster.
The private bathroom with shower cabin is large and stylishly decorated with slate and mosaic wall tiles. A separate WC is located next to the bathroom. Our guests have at their disposal towels, shower towels, pool towels and beach towels.
On the private terrace (14m2) there is an outdoor seating area and a Weber charcoal grill with all the necessary barbecue material - in other words: everything you need is there to prepare your own breakfast or a light meal. If you don't like to cook yourself, you will find countless pretty and tasty cafés and restaurants within a few minutes by car, which have something to offer for every taste and every budget.

We offer a harmonious base from which our guests can explore the area and the legendary backdrop of Knysna or relax after a strenuous day. Armadillo`s garden is a real little paradise!
Pool and wooden deck
Would you like to let your soul dangle in the hammock, sunbathe in our loungers in the garden oasis, or would you like to refresh yourself in the pool? All this is there for you to enjoy. The water is cleaned in an environmentally friendly and clean way. A special device produces natural chlorine from salt by electrolysis, because bathing without chemical additives is even more fun.
Lapa & Grill
The traditional Lapa (a small African shelter with a thatched roof) is equipped with a picnic table and is perfect for an aperitif, a barbecue or a "slumber". Under the lapa (in addition to the charcoal grills on the private studio terraces) you will find a Weber gas grill with all the necessary accessories for a delicious barbecue.
Fireplace:
What could be more romantic than gathering around the fire in the evening after an eventful day, telling stories and looking up at the clear starry sky? The fireplace is equipped with many seats and is available to our guests at any time. Of course we ask our guests to make sure before leaving that there is no danger from the fire or the embers.
Cleaning:
During a longer stay the accommodation will be cleaned once a week and sheets, towels and shower towels will be changed once a week.
Environment:
Knysna is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Garden Route, surrounded by untouched nature. Just as we do everything to make our guests feel comfortable and at home, we also attach great importance to a respectful treatment of the environment. The effects of global climate change can also be felt in Knysna, especially in the form of reduced rainfall. There is often a water shortage in the area and various restrictions apply. We are aware of our responsibility as a guesthouse and would like to contribute our part to an environmentally friendly behavior.
In order to reduce our electricity and coal consumption, we have installed solar collectors on the roof for hot water preparation. And since 2018 we have been producing part of the electricity with our own photovoltaic system.
